My recent poem in Kannada language. A rather quick translation in English language follows.

Whilst she’s gone

Whilst she’s gone

Not seen the rangoli
Not heard the melody of her bangles
Veiled mascara of her eyes
Stretched dark shadows around my eyes.

Whilst she’s gone

Unpleasant is my wellness
Awake is my sleep
The light is now but a shade
Like my life, a shadow.

Whilst she’s gone

The leafless tree stands alone
Like a lone bird
His companion not returning
A lonely bird’s song.

Whilst she’s gone

The spring stops arriving
with a fading gaze
The path is filled with sigh
Like my empty heart.

Whilst you’re gone
Love is lost.
The forgotten heartbeat
Unfilled cup.

My love
Why this abandoning
Call me, hold me, walk me.
Listen to me, love me.

I’m yours
Here, and there too.

  2. I would love to hear that spoken, to catch the poetry in the original language. #lostintranslation
