A child’s two simple wishes…

A child’s two simple wishes…
I wish I had monkey’s feet,
Lion’s body, tiger’s tail,
Phoenix wings, Human voice,
and language to speak
with my own face.

I wish I talked to my school teachers
Calling them by their first names.
That, they too wore uniforms.
That, they asked for my permission
to do things with me in school.

That I could choose what I really wanted to learn.
